Spanish art is one of the most important and influential art forms in entire Europe. Spanish art mainly takes into consideration various artistic disciplines and art works which has developed in through out the time period in Spain. Rococo: One of the most noted court painter and portraitist is Francisco Goya. He was also known for his visionary and revolutionary ideas. In the early parts of his life, Goya was involved in painting draft cartoons which focus on scenes from everyday life. Literature: Literature of the country is as interesting as sculpture with the oldest conserved Spanish cantar de gesta being the Cantar Mio Cid. This is one of the documents to find its sources from the medieval Spanish. On the other hand Fernando de Rojas was actively involved in publishment of the book named Celestina. Celestina is considered to be the most important books relating to Spanish literature and also marks end of the medieval literature with arriving of literature renaissance. Lararillo de Tormes on the other hand is credited for creation of a literature genre along with contribution to the literature belonging to the golden centuries. In his picaresque novel Tormes has been able to showcase adventures of picaro along with the injustice imposed.

Sculpture: Sculpture developments in Spain can be noticed from the beginning of the 16th century to the last third of the same period. One of the most well known architects, painter and sculpture is Alonso Berruguete, also known as the prince of Spanish sculpture. Expression, originality and grandiosity are some of the reasons for the popularity of Alonso. Some of the main sculpture works include tomb of the Cardinal Tavera, visitation altarpiece of the church of Santa Ursula and the upper chairs of the cathedral of Toledo. Two prominent groups which have a substantial amount of influence upon the sculpture of Spain includes the Grenadine group which also includes Alonso Cano and Sevillian group which is well known for Juan Martinez Montanes.

Architecture: The architecture of the Spain dates back to the prehistoric period which mainly includes the Celtic and Iberian along with Megalithic architectures. It was during the roman period during which urban developments took place. The architecture also showcases several developments after the Romanesque period makes by important contributions on the part of Al-Andalus. Some of the other important contributions come in the form of the great mosque of Cordoba, La Giralda Seville, and Cathedrals of Burgos etc.
