Sports are one of those things from which you cannot run away. Once in everybody’s life time, one always play’s a sport. If not playing then he watches it. Football is one of those games which everybody loves. It is the universal game which is played all around the globe. However, its craze is different from continent to continent and from country to country. In Europe it is followed like a religion, every European country has contributed a lot to this beautiful game. But there is one country which needs special mention and its name is Spain. The Spanish people are football mad; every match is celebrated like a festival. As Spain is already very popular for Fiestas, it cannot be denied that football is also a big part of it. This country has a very good international profile when it comes to football. In the World Cup and the European Championships it has always been one of the favourites. But it is the club football culture in Spain which gives its people the high of their life, the Spanish La Liga or the Spanish Football League is the thing which makes things go up and down in Spain.

There are a lot clubs in this League but FC Barcelona has earned a big name which shall always be discussed whenever you talk about Spanish Football. It is the football club of Barcelona city, popularly known Barca. This club was founded in the year 1899 by a small group of English, Swiss and Catalan people. Since then this club has almost become a powerful Catalan institution and therefore its motto also says that it is more than a club. FC Barcelona was one of the founding members of the Spanish La Liga in the year 1928 with Athletic Bilbao and Madrid. FC Barcelona was the first club to win the La Liga championship, their achievements also include 18 La Liga’s, 11 Supercopa de Espana, 24 Copa del Rey, 2 UEFA Champions League , 2 European Super Cup trophies and 4 UEFA Cup Trophies. The clubs home stadium is Camp Nou and 25% people of Spain supports Barca.

Now when such a big club plays there has to be a certain factor of rivalry between the other clubs and Barca. Therefore, there is a big time rivalry between Barcelona and Real Madrid, which are strongest clubs of La Liga. Each game between these football power houses is known as El Clasico. FC Barcelona represents the Catalans and Real Madrid represents Castilians, as there has been an age old rivalry of these people. Anyways, when it comes to sponsorship FC Barcelona has a different attitude altogether. Without having a commercial message on its t shirt, the club has joined hands with UNICEF for a period of years and has the UNICEF logo on its t shirt.

This club has done a lot for not just the city but also for the world as it has a big charity fund of its own.
