The country Spain is quite a popular country around the globe. There is entertainment, music, food, good crowd, beaches and the list is never ending. All over this country there are places which you would love to see. Every city in Spain is a complete tourist destination in itself. These cities have their dedicated places, festivals and cuisines which nobody want to miss out on. All these things however, can be enjoyed in other countries also but when it comes to festivals no other nation can challenge the spirit of the Spanish people when it’s the Fiesta time. Spain is the only nation which is so well known for its festivals; actually it’s the spirit and the involvement of the people which makes these Festivals so popular. Every city is known for its own Fiesta and Madrid is a city which has to be spoken of when anybody is talking about Fiestas.

Every Spanish is a fun loving and loud. However, when it comes to the people of Madrid, things are a bit different. The people of Madrid need a little push to enjoy themselves. They regularly catch the street for a drink or two or for a small meal, but are a bit reluctant in laughing out loud. However as a fact of the matter, Madrid has the most number of bars in the whole of Spain when you compare it with other cities. But nobody can escape the fever of the Fiesta. The most popular and important take place during the months of April to October. In the spring and summer, the people of Spain take the streets in cars and droves, and then they enjoy a long chain of fiestas all over the city. Particularly in Madrid, Dos de Mayo on the Second of May, La Paloma, La Almudena and San Isidro are the main fiestas. In the beginning of the month of May there are two back to back public holidays, the 1st of May is a public holiday and the 2nd of May is Dos de Mayo. The Dos de Mayo is celebrated in the name of the French invaders who were defeated in the War of Independence.

San Isidro is the name of the male patron of Madrid who was a saint. 15th of May is celebrated as his feast day with popular gatherings such as the romerias, verbenas and the famous bullfights. The most famous and the most important bullfights of Spain, which means of the world, take place in Plaza de Ventas at this time. Plaza de Ventas is the most known bullring in Spain and is situated in Madrid. This whole event continues for 20 days and the best bullfighters and breeders come together at this time of the year in Madrid. If its bullfighting because of which you want to come to Spain, then this is the perfect time to make a trip to Madrid. There are a large number of other fiestas which takes place in the beautiful city of Madrid, but these two are the prime ones.
